Margaret C. Reed, 96, of Rotterdam passed away Saturday April 4, 2015 at Capital Living Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Schenectady. Born in Winchendon, MA, she was the daughter of the late William and Eunice (Whittemore) Robertson. She graduated and was in the first graduating class at the University of New Hampshire for Occupational Therapy. Margaret was employed for several years as an Occupational Therapist at the Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital in Schenectady. Margaret was a member for many years of the First Reformed Church in Schenectady. Throughout her life, her huge family was very important to her. Margaret had made many long lasting friendships with her students and the people she met in everyday life. Margaret enjoyed gardening. She is predeceased by her husband Dr. Norman A. Reed whom she married July 5, 1942, one brother William Robertson and one sister Gertrude MacInnes. Margaret is survived by her four sons William Reed ( Laura Croote) of Duanesburg, Christopher Reed (Maureen) of Glenville, Richard Reed ( Mickey) of Schoharie and Thomas Reed (Barbara) of Gilmanton, NH., one brother Christopher Robertson of Gilmanton, NH, one sister Mary Misunas of Waukegan, Ill., also survived by eight grandchildren Carmen Reed Loremtz, Carrie Ann Reed, Tyler Reed, Derek Reed, Christine Reed Crawford, Joel Reed, Christopher (Jennifer) Halla and, Paulina McGaver, also survived by several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Contributions can be made in Margaret's memory to the Schenectady City Mission 425 Hamilton Street Schenectady, NY 12305 or to the Salvation Army 222 Lafayette Street Schenectady, NY 12305 Arrangements are by the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.
