Libera (Lee) DiPoffi, 89, of Schenectady passed away on Wednesday May 2, 2012 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. She was born in Schenectady and was the daughter of the late Nicola and Mary (Avdiola) Di Donna. Lee was employed in Housekeeping at Bellevue Maternity Hospital in Niskayuna until her retirement. Prior to that, she was a homemaker and also worked for GE and the Ellis Hospital. Lee was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Rotterdam. She had a great sense of humor and made everyone laugh. Lee is predeceased by her husband Lawrence DiPoffi whom she married June 25, 1950 and three brothers-Rocco DiDonna, Michael DiDonna and Nicholas DiDonna. She is survived by one daughter Lisa M. Smith (Frank) of Schenectady, one son David L. DiPoffi ( Diane) of Schenectady, two brothers Arthur DiDonna ( Janey) of Maine and Albert DiDonna of Schenectady, one sister Susan Pietrowicz of California, one sister in law Doris DiDonna of Schenectady, also survived by 4 grandchildren Danielle Kennedy, Kristen DiPoffi, Michael DiPoffi and Brittney DiPoffi and one great Grandchild Anthony Kennedy. Funeral Services will be Tuesday 8:45AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by a Mass at 9:30AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 210 Princetown Road Rotterdam. Relative and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be 6-8PM Monday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady. Contributions can be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children Hospital 501 St. Jude place Memphis, TN 38105.
