KEITH W. KNISKERN of Rotterdam entered into the Kingdom of God and eternal peace on Thursday February 9,2006 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Kniskern was born in Schenectady on October 27, 1928. A lifelong resident,he received his GED after spending two years in the United States Navy where he played the trombone in the Regimental Band and served on the destroyer escort Robert E. Paine. For many years Keith worked for Freihofer Baking Company and retired in 1994 from C.D.T.A. He then loved to help his sons at Center Stage Deli on Hamburg Street.Keith was predeceased by his mother, Mildred Wood Kniskern and his father, Frank Kniskern. He is survived by his wife and best friend Margaret Schoneich Kniskern and his children David(Nancy)Kniskern,Linda(Charles) Miller, Brian (Brenda)Kniskern all of Schenectady,Kevin(Maureen)Kniskern of Niskayuna, Denise(Keith)VanHousen of Scotia, Leisa(James) Rosmarin of Rexford and Margaret(James)Raymond of Rotterdam. He is also survived by his grandchildren Melissa Miller of Schenectady, Sarah Miller of Albany, Alexandra Kniskern of North Carolina,Jennifer Coons of Schenectady, Brandon Hudson of Ballston Spa, Patrick Kniskern of Schenectady, Jason Kniskern of California, Meagan Kniskern of Niskayuna, Brittaney, Corbin and Ryan Rosmarin of Rexford, Joshua Raymond of Rotterdam and Danielle Raymond of Syracuse,a sister Virginia Tryon of Orange City ; Florida and several nieces and nephews. Keith was a member of Schenectady Lodge No. 1174 F.& AM, Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Schenectady, Rotterdam Elks Lodge No. 2157, and the Princetown Hourglass Seniors. He was also a member of the Family Motor Coach Association, Good Sam and Sippin' Sam Clubs and the O.F.C. He and his wife wintered in Palm Harbor,Fl. for several years in their motorhome with friends. He loved his family, his church, music, bowling, golf,biking, puttering in the yard, washing his cars and traveling.A celebration of life will be held on Monday, February 13, 2006, at the Lynnwood Reformed Church on Carman Road at 11 :00 a.m. A visitation wil1 be held on Sunday from 2:00 -5:00 p.m. at Bond Funeral Home,Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers,please make contributions to Community Hospice at 1411 Union Street,Schet1ectady, 12308 or St. Jude. Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place,Memphis, Tennessee Doug and Kenny, strike up the band. ..here comes Keith!
