Joyce M. Hooker

Joyce M. Hooker, 89, of Rotterdam passed away peacefully at home on Monday December 18, 2023. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Gus and Mildred (Fajkowski) Kluth.

She was a graduate of the Mildred Elley School. Joyce was employed as a secretary for the Mohonasen School District. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Joyce enjoyed quilting, traveling, camping and family get togethers. She also cherished her lunch dates with her best friend Ruth. And her other best friend in life was her beloved cat, Becky.

She is predeceased by her two husbands Scott Walrath and John Hooker as well as her sister Evelyn Gigone.

Joyce is survived by her two sons Scott Walrath (Kathleen) and Edward Walrath (Kathleen). She is also survived by her grandchildren- Eric Walrath (April), Alan Walrath, Chelsea Walrath (Kieran), Jake Walrath, Nikolas Walrath, Chelsea Anderson, Mary Kayhoe (Adam) and Patrick Casey (Meredith). Joyce also has five great grandchildren-Gus, Owen, Kai, Olivia, and Lennox as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Joyce will be on Wednesday January 3, 2024 at 11AM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. A Visitation will be held from 10-11AM prior.

Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
