Dr. John H. Hackett, 85, of Princetown passed away Friday December 11, 2015 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Middletown, NY, he was the son of Leo and Pauline (Welsh) Hackett. John served his country in the US Navy. He was a graduate of Union College and Palmer Chiropractic College. Dr. Hackett had a chiropractic practice for 56 years serving the community with offices in the Schenectady and Saratoga communities. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Schenectady. John was an avid woodworker and gardener. John was also a member of the Rotterdam Elks.. The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Ellis Hospital and Albany Medical Center for their excellent care of John. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by three brothers Leo Hackett, Thomas Hackett and Michael Hackett as well as one sister Barbara Pellegrini. John is survived by his loving wife Lorraine (Erickson) Hackett whom he married July 18, 1971, three sons David Hackett of Albany, Paul Hackett of Albany, and Mark Hackett of Seattle, WA, one brother William Hackett (Callie) of North Carolina, one sister Patricia Germer of Rotterdam as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Friday 10AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church 1911 Fairview Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There will be no calling hours by request. Inurnment with full military honors will follow the service at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Dr. Hackett's memory to St. Paul's Episcopal Church 1911 Fairview Avenue Schenectady NY 12306 or to the American Heart Association 440 New Karner Road Albany, NY 12205. Arrangements are by the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.
