Yvonne (Tommasone) Rockstroh 49 of Rotterdam died Monday evening April 14th at Albany Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of Henry Tommasone of Rotterdam and the late Florence (VonStetina) Tommasone. A graduate of Draper High School, Yvonne was a 1978 graduate of Schenectady County Community College and received her Bachelors degree in Music performance from SUNY Albany. A homemaker, Yvonne was a part-time Musician and member and secretary of Schenectady Musical Union Local 85-133, a member and personal director of the Capitol District Marching Band, member of the Esperance and Rotterdam Town Bands and a former member of the All Girl Dance Band. A talented artist and crafter, see was an avid bird watcher and loved the outdoors. Beside her father Yvonne is survived by her husband and best friend James E. Rockstroh, her children, Eric J. Rockstroh of Wynantskill and Gregory M. Rockstroh of Rotterdam, a granddaughter, Jilian Rockstroh, a sister, Victoria Handy (Joseph) of Rotterdam, two brothers Mark Tommasone(Christine) and Michael Tommasone(Ernestine) both of Rotterdam and several nieces and nephews.. Funeral service will be held on Friday evening April 18, 2008 at 4:30pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will follow the service from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
