Winthrop A Ford, Sr., affectionally known as Rickey or Big Rick, peacefully entered eternal rest on the same date as his father, December 7, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was united in marriage to his wife, Davilyn Ford in 2015, whom he shared a loving relationship with until his death.

Rickey was born on August 25, 1960 in Albany, NY to the late Charles Ford, Sr. and Virginia Bynum Ford. He attended Albany City Schools, where he had an early interest in learning the Tuba for 2 years. He graduated from Albany High School in 1979. While in high school, he was a star basketball player, he wore jersey number "54," and was famous for his 3- point shots. Upon graduating high school Rickey entered the United States Army serving a four year tour. For the next 25 years, he worked for the New York State Department of Corrections until his retirement. Rickey was an avid fisherman and enjoyed going fishing with his dear friend Al Brandon.

Rickey attended the Mid-Hudson Bible Institute receiving an Associate's Degree to enhance his Bible knowledge, and made the decision to attend the James R. Wright Institute of Christian Education to amplify his passion for the Word of God. In September 2021, Rickey was ordained a "Minister" at Higher Ground Worship Center COGIC by Pastor Robert Lee McDougald, who then assigned him the Tuesday night Y.P.W.W. bible study teacher.

Rickey is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Virginia Ford, his brother, Darryl Ford, his two daughters, Sheneka Stuman and Shannon Ford.
