Winifred "Peggy" Damberg

Winifred "Peggy" Damberg, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Born in Schenectady, Peggy was the daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude (Sanders) Horton. Peggy was a graduate of Draper High School. She was a homemaker and took great pleasure in spending time with her family. Peggy was predeceased in 2009 by her husband, John H. Damberg whom she married on June 23, 1946. Peggy leaves behind her daughter, Cheryl A. Ritchie of Stamford, CT, her sister, Gertrude Nappi of Schenectady, grandchildren, Jennifer Railey (Mike) of Brooklyn, Jonathan Ritchie (Lisa) of Stamford and Joseph Ritchie (Kayla Keller) of Brooklyn, great grandchildren, Vanessa Ritchie and George Ritchie, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Peggy will be Thursday, September 10 at 10am at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, from 5-7pm at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Peggy's family would like to thank Carole and Danny Van Der Werken and family for the loving care that they gave to Peggy over the past several weeks.
