Wilma Helen Schoneker, 95, of Rotterdam, went to be with the Lord on Monday June 6, 2005 at Baptist health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia. She was born in Jersey City, N.J. on November 28, 1909 to Anna and Henry Siers. Wilma was predeceased in 1960 be her beloved husband, Martin Luther Schoneker who she married on February 22, 1934. She was also predeceased by a sister Dorothy Siers and a brother Henry Siers. She was a dedicated and active member of Calvary Baptist church most of her life. She was a Sunday school teacher, deaconess, board member and also visited shut-ins and hospitals. Wilma was a volunteer for the Red Cross for more than 35 years and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pine Grove Fire Department and worked as a bursar at Union College until she retired. Wilma was a homemaker who loved her flower garden, but her life revolved around her church and family. Her belief and trust in God was prominent in her life. She passed this belief on to her children and grandchildren, but also to everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. Wilma's greatest joy was being proud of her family and their accomplishments in life. Survivor's include three loving children; Elyse Kapusta and husband Tony of Duanesburg, Martin Schoneker and wife Cindy of Port Ludlow, Washington and Rodger Schoneker and wife Betty Lou of St Simons, Georgia, a sister Betty Siers of Middletown, NY and five loving grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon June 9, 2005 at 1 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 to 1pm prior to the service. Internment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park. Contributions may be made in Wilma's memory to First Baptist Church of Scotia, Mohawk Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302 or to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osbourne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211
