William A Leguire

William A. Leguire, 74, passed away Thursday afternoon January 21st at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Born in Patterson, NJ, Bill was the son of the late William J. and Anna (Slagus) Leguire. A Marine Corp. veteran, Bill was a Deputy Sheriff with Schenectady County for over 23 years before his retirement and had also worked for Mohawk Ambulance for over 20 years. A member of Forbes Rifle and Pistol Club, Iroquois Rod and Gun Club and the Marine Corp League, Bill was also a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church. William is survived by his wife of 48 years Joanne (Jankowski) Leguire who he married on may 6, 1967, his children ,Shelia Leguire of Rotterdam and Patrick Leguire (Tara) of Pattersonville , a brother Daniel, a sister Johanna, as well as his grandchildren, Kayla and Matthew Leguire . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday January 26th at 11 am at St Paul the Apostle Church, 2733 Albany Street, Schenectady, NY 12304. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Entombment in Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum, Niskayuna, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Bill's memory to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave, Scotia, NY 12302
