William A. Broomhall, 68, of Rotterdam passed away at home on Thursday June 23, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Niskayuna, NY, he was the son of the late William and Virginia (Biglow) Broomhall. William served his country in the Army in the Vietnam War. He was employed as a machinist for 37 years for the General Electric Company in Schenectady. William was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed going on cruises each year with the love of his life Rose. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a longtime hunter for 35 years at Robbs Creek in the Adirondacks. William was a member of the Big Eight Club. William was a handyman of all trades. He loved woodworking and fishing. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Thomas Goodman and his entire team for giving William 22 years of life. They would like to also thank Community Hospice for their excellent care of William. William is survived by his loving wife Rose (Wnuk) Broomhall whom he married April 19, 1969, two sons William A. Broomhall (Tracy) of Rotterdam and Daniel D. Broomhall ( Kimberly) of Altamont, two sisters Barbara Hodoroski (Bill) of Delanson and Virginia Wnuk (Walter) of Galway, two brothers Robert Broomhall (Mary Ellen) of Rotterdam and Donald Broomhall (Kim) of Kettering, Ohio, also survived by his four grandchildren Trevor, Kailey, Logan and Connor as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for William will be on Tuesday at 10AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relative and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be Monday evening 5-7PM at the funeral home. Internment will be in Memory Gardens in Colonie.
