Warren Oliver, Jr. 68, passed away on Saturday, December 17th, 2011 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Schenectady, Warren was the son of the late Warren and Virginia (Kwiatkowski) Oliver. After serving in the Army, Warren completed apprenticeship and worked for General Electric for 35 years. A fan of all sports, Warren especially loved the NY Yankees. He also enjoyed traveling in states, poker, bowling, and coaching his sons in baseball when they were younger. He was a very patriotic man and loved his country. Warren is predeceased by his son Timothy Oliver. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Mary (McClain) Oliver, as well as his son David (Billie Jo) Oliver of Galway, three grandchildren, Ashley Blowers, and Timothy and Trishelle Oliver. Warren also leaves behind his sister Emelia (Roy) Pedersen, and lifelong friends Gary (Jo) Howe and Bucky (Margaret) Hurd. Warren was the favorite son-in-law to Marvin and Francis McClain of Dalton,Ga. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 20 at 2pm at the West Charlton Presbyterian Church. Calling hours will be held the evening of Monday, December 19, from 6-8pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady. Inurnment will take place at the West Galway Cemetery at a later date.
