Warren B. Gifford

Warren B. Gifford, 91, of Princetown passed away on Monday January 26, 2026 unexpectedly after dealing with numerous health issues. Born in Princetown, he was the son of the late Harlan and Irena (Blessing) Gifford.

He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Warren had jobs driving milk trucks (how he met his wife) and dump trucks for several private companies until he was employed as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for the Schenectady County Highway department for 31 years.

Warren was a past chief and member of the Plotterkill Volunteer Fire Department for 55 years. He was a member of Christ Church of the Hills and the Princetown Seniors.

Warren had a fondness for tractors, International and Kubota, and collected as many as his wife would allow. He enjoyed going to Fonda Speedway and attending auctions and garage sales looking for milk cans and axes of which he had many. Still a great driver at 91, he and Inge loved to go for car rides to get their Amish baked goods, go to Ollie's and look for sales. Warren never went the same way twice and knew every back road in a 50 mile radius from home.

He is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Ingeborg Gifford on 12/30/25, a grandson Daniel Gifford, a sister Dorothy Tygert and four brothers George, Durrell, Ralph, and Robert Gifford.

Warren is survived by his children Donald Gifford of Princetown and Karen Lewandowski (Jeffrey) of Princetown, a sister Margaret Bixby of Middleburgh as well as two grandchildren Jenna Pinkney (Austin) and Dalton Lewandowski. He is also survived by his great granddaughter Alina Pinkney and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services for Warren will be Friday January 30, 2026 at 12 noon at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Visitation will be from 10-12 prior.

Spring Interment with his wife will be in Grove Cemetery in Delanson.
