Walter L Peterson

August 31, 1927 — June 14, 2007

Walter L. Peterson 79 of Scotia died Thursday morning June 14th, 2007 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Walter and Cora (Moles) Peterson. Walter was a seaman in the United States Navy serving in active duty and with the reserves. Walter was the former owner of the Mobil Gas Station on Rosa Road and later worked at the Town of Niskayuna Landfill as a heavy equipment operator for over 20 years. He attended Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Glenville and was a member of the Cotillion Dance Club and the Rotterdam Elks Club. Walter is survived by his wife of 28 years Phyllis K. (Shadick) Kile Peterson , a son James Peterson(Diane) of Utica,2 sisters; Eileen Green of Rotterdam and Diane Foster(Robert) of Crawfordsville, Fl., a niece Charlene Green of Rotterdam,5 grandchildren , several great grandchildren and other nieces and nephews. Private services will be held with military honors at Saratoga National Cemetery at 10:30am on Tuesday morning June 19, 2007. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 547 Saratoga Road, Glenville, NY or to East Glenville Fire House District #3, Saratoga Road, Scotia, NY 12302.
