Walter G Becker

Walter G. Becker, 79, of Schenectady, formerly of Rotterdam died Saturday July 31, 2010 at Ellis Hospital. Walter was born in Schenectady on June 4, 1931. He was the son of the late George W. and Ethel (Suits) Becker. Walter spent his life on the family farm on Dunnsville Road as a descendant of generations of farmers in the area that dates back to pre-revolutionary days. He loved to visit antique shows, regional fairs, antique car shows, antique tractor shows and historical sites. Walter loved to travel to Virginia to visit his sister Ruth and his niece Carole and join their family for holiday celebrations and to enjoy all the historical exhibits in Virginia. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by two nephews John Davis and Gordon Davis. Walter is survived by a brother William Becker of Rotterdam, one sister Ruth B. Davis of Brookneal, VA, her niece Carole Newton (Winston) of Brookneal, VA; two nephews Richard Davis (Alice) of Sun City, AZ, Robert Davis (Janis) of Byron, GA as well as several grand nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A special "ThankYou" is extended to the cousins -Welton Blessing and Marvin Blessing for their care and time extended to Walter. Funeral Services will be Thursday 10AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. A Calling Hour will be Thursday 9-10AM at the funeral home. Internment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam.
