Vito T. Pasquariello, 96, passed away on Monday morning March 1st at Albany Medical Center. Born and educated in Schenectady, Vito was the son of the late Dominick and Marguerite (Christie) Pasquariello. A World War II Army Air Force Veteran, Vito served with the 426th Bombardment 305th Bombardment Group, he was a Purple Heart recipient and a former Prisoner of War. An Operating Engineer for August Bohl Contracting, Inc for many years, he was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers and the American Ex Prisoner of War group. During Vito's retirement years he enjoyed fishing, gardening, running his back-hoe and spending time with family friends and his dear companion Julia Pavlic. Predeceased in 1994 by his beloved wife 42 years, Katherine (Cross) Pasquariello, Vito was also predeceased by his daughter; Judy Ragucci as well as his siblings; Josephine, Carmella, Angeline, Yolanda, Marie, Stephen, Dominic, Ralph and John. He is survived by his son; Charles Hansen of Clifton Park along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and his beloved pet Lady Bird. A celebration of Vito's life will be held on Monday March 7th at 1 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held from 12 to 1 pm prior to the celebration. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Vito's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517,Topeka, Kansas 66675 Interment in Schenectady Memorial Park will be with Military Honors.
