Virginia Zampa

Virginia E. Zampa, 84, of Rotterdam, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Edith (Buell) Rolfe and the sister of the late Herbert Rolfe Jr. She had a long-standing nursing career which started at Ellis Hospital after graduating from Sage College. Virginia was dedicated to helping children through fostering throughout her life. Her passion and talents were seen in her creations of beautiful afghans, quilts, baby sweaters, mittens, and home gifts that she donated, shared, and blessed others with. Her presence in this world has touched so many and has reached further than she ever realized. Virginia was predeceased in death by her past husbands, Rev. Leroy Perran and Gino Zampa whom she was married for 9 years and 48 years, respectively. Virginia has two daughters, Patricia Mason (Robert) of Brockton, Massachusetts, and Laura Kieran (Shawn) of Trego, Wisconsin and many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Virginia will be Monday February 8th at 11 a.m. at the Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady. A calling half hour will precede the service from 10:30am to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Vale Cemetery.
