Virginia B Smith

Virginia B. Smith, 91, of Schenectady passed away on Tuesday April 24, 2012 at Baptist Health and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia. Born in Coxsackie, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Donna (Perkins) Moore. She was a graduate of Coxsackie High School and the Galax Business School in Galax, Virginia. Virginia was employed for over 25 years for Schenectady Family and Child Services in Homemaker Service. She was also employed in the Deli Department for Price Chopper for 20 years retiring in the mid 1980's. Virginia was a member of First Reformed Church in Scotia. She was an extremely devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Virginia was a warm, loving and forgiving person. She is predeceased by her husband Merwin E. Smith, one daughter Donna Hunt, two brothers Dean Moore and Robert Moore and one sister Susan Moore Ellis as well as one daughter-in-law Katherine Smith. Virginia is survived by one son Ronald D. Smith of Rotterdam, three sisters Vivian Visher of Venice, FL, Mary Langenberg of Michigan and Betty Morford of Michigan. She is also survived by 5 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Monday 12 noon at the Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Monday 10-12 prior to the service. Inurnment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam.
