Virginia Helen Cegelski Guyette 92 of Rotterdam passed away peacefully after a brief illness Sunday evening, May 8th at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Schenectady, Virginia was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Tomac) Cegelski, Sr. and was a 1940 honor student and graduate of Draper High School. A former employee of the General Electric Company, she was also the secretary at Schonowe School in the 1950's. Virginia was a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Church. She was an accomplished artist, folk and ballroom dancer. Her paintings remain a reminder to many of her love for all people and of her appreciation for the beauty of our world, especially the ocean. Virginia taught Polish Folk dancing and enjoyed researching every detail to create beautiful paintings as well as costumes, wearing them and dancing the dances proudly representing her Polish heritage. She and her husband were united in marriage at St. John the Evangelist Church on April 19, 1942. They enjoyed their winters in Florida where they would dress up to meet their dear friends to ballroom dance often 3 or 4 times a week. Virginia is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, Robert A. Guyette, their children; Donna Farquhar (David) of Norwich, NY, Gary Guyette (Dale) of St. Michaels, MD and Amie Hall ( William) of Fairfield, CT, her brother; Walter M.
