Violet May Porter

Violet May (Grams) Porter 86 of Schenectady died Monday morning June 16th at Ellis Hospital. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Edith (Lenhardt) Grams and a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Violet was a secretary for the General Electric Company for over 35 years before her retirement in 1975. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Christian Service Guild, and the ? century club of the GE. Violet enjoyed traveling and loved the outdoors. Violet was predeceased in 2002 by her husband George H Porter who she married August 24, 1946 and her sister Gladys Lobdell. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning June 20th at 11 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 35 Furman Street, Schenectady, NY 12305. A calling hour will precede the service at the church from 10 to 11am. Interment in Memory's Garden in Colonie, NY. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church in her memory. Arrangements are by the Bond Funeral Home, Schenectady, NY.
