Victoria A Rickard

Victoria A. Rickard (Vicki) passed away on January 20,2023 at her residence after a fierce battle with aggressive cancer.

She was 54 years old. Born in Albany, NY on February 19, 1968, she was the youngest of six children born to Harold and Angeline Ogren.

In 2022, Vicki and her husband David purchased their paradise in Duanesburg, where she enjoyed the beauty and serenity their property provided. Vicki also enjoyed swimming, NASCAR, cross stitch, Legos, kayaking with her family, and more recently, target practice with David. It is said she mastered the skill through endless hours of playing the game ‘Duck Hunt’. The bull’s eye never stood a chance.

In 2017 Vicki graduated from The Belanger School of Nursing with a degree in nursing. She also drove a school bus for the Mohonasen school district and Brown Transportation, where she was known to make homemade Christmas gifts for her young passengers.

Vicki was predeceased by her father, Harold W. Ogren, Jr., her brothers, Harold W. Ogren III and John R. Ogren, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

She is survived by her beloved husband of eight years, David, her children Justin (Kayla) Taylor and Kaitlyn (Brian) Shelton, and her grandsons Nathan William Shelton and Clayton Ross Taylor. Vicki is also survived by her mother, Angeline Ogren, her sisters Diane Ogren, Kelly LaBelle and Donna (Paul) Rickard, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and David’s family. Rest well, Vicki. You will be dearly missed.

A service to celebrate Vicki’s life will be held on Thursday January 26th at 5 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visitation will follow the service on Thursday.
