Vernon George Bond

Vernon George Bond, 91, died at Teresian House on May 9, 2023. He was the son of Merlin and Ruth Bond.

Vernon was born July 29, 1931 and had been a lifelong resident of Schenectady. He received his
high school diploma from Mont Pleasant High School, and attended Central College in Pella, Iowa.

His working years included several years as a rate clerk for D&H Railroad and several years with the NYS Department of Transportation.

Vernon was an accomplished organist,having served as a church organist for several years.
Upon retirement, he accepted a call to become a minister/publisher in the Duanesburg Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness.

Survivors include a brother, Paul (Barbara) Bond of Erie, PA, a sister, Mary Ann (Stephen) Lyons of Las Vegas, NV, several nieces and nephews, as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady on Friday May 19,2023 at 8 pm. Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service.
