Valentino Joseph Federico

Valentino Joseph Federico Jr., 74, of Schenectady passed away peacefully on Thursday October 9, 2008 at home in the hands of his loving family. Born in Little Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Valentino J. and Sara (Tisi) Federico Sr. He graduated from St. Mary's Academy and attended Utica Community College. Valentino served in the US Navy from 1953-1957. He was employed for 36 years as a Machinist in Gas/Steam Turbine for the General Electric Company in Schenectady. Valentino was a member of St. Luke's Church in Schenectady. He enjoyed building model boats and airplanes. Valentino enjoyed his time with his children and Grandchildren. He especially enjoyed telling stories to his Grandchildren. Valentino is survived by his wife Mary LaBarge Federico whom he married August 3, 1963, four daughters- Valerie Federico-Maietta (Todd) of Chesterfield, NH, Pamela Williams ( Kenneth) of Schenectady, Mary M. Federico of Niskayuna, and Christine Mennillo (Christopher) of Schenectady, two brothers Paul Federico ( Ann) of Tuscon, AZ and Leonard Federico of Phoenix, AZ, one sister Isabelle Murphy (John) of Bristol, TN, also survived by 9 Grandchildren-Alyshia, Sarah, Adam, Chelsey, Jordan, Valentino, Tessa, David and Dylan, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Tuesday 8:45AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady followed by a Mass at 9:30AM at St.Luke's Church 1241 State Street Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Monday evening 6-8PM at the funeral home. Internment with full military honors will be at the Gerald B. H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Contributions can be made in Valentino's memory to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
