Tristano J. "Dietz" DiDonato 93 of Rotterdam died Monday evening April 9, 2007 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Frank and Flora (Pecora) DiDonato. An Entrepreneur, Tristano was a former odds maker at Saratoga Race track in the early 1940's and a former owner of many businesses, which included Bellevue Bowling Alley and Scotia lanes, Dinty's Terrace Garden and Night Club, the Latin Quarter Night Club in Virginia Beach, VA, the Marco Polo Restaurant, Dixie Fried Chicken, the Grand Prix Restaurant and Glen Travel Plaza. Tristano also owned Fox Run Parc for over 20 years before retiring in 2005. He loved the fact that he was able to run his last two businesses together with his wife, son and daughter by his side. He enjoyed his camp on Saratoga Lake surrounded by his loving family and in his 80's he learned to use the computer where he enjoyed buying and selling stocks online. Tristano is survived by his beloved wife Grace S. (Cagnina) DiDonato who he married March 24, 1953, his two loving children, Dennis D. DiDonato and wife Susan of Altamont and Laurie A. McDonald and husband Richard of Rotterdam, four cherished grandchildren, Tristina and Tara McDonald and Eileen and Alyssa DiDonato and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 13, 2007 at 12 noon at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning from 11 to 12 noon prior to the funeral service. Entombment in Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum.
