Timothy M. Donovan 52 of Acworth, NH died tragically in a glider accident on Monday June 29th in Ephrata, WA. Born in Schenectady, Timothy was a graduate of Scotia Glenville High School and Florida Institute of Technology. Tim was the founder and former president of Optimum Manufacturing Corporation in Charlestown, NH for the past 25 years. A successful businessman and an accomplished pilot, Tim had a lifelong love for aviation and had piloted all types of aircraft for 30 years, flying everything from hang gliders and sailplanes to turbo-prop jets. The pride of his squadron by far, was his 1956 Cessna 310B, affectionately referred to as the Emerald Eagle. We take comfort in knowing that Tim is soaring with the Eagles now. Timothy was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Donovan. He is survived by his wife Cathy Carter of Unity, New Hampshire, parents June (Wurth) Donovan of Scotia, New York, and Timothy (Catherine) Donovan of Las Vegas, Nevada, his brothers, Robert Donovan of Hot Springs, AK. and Brian (Kathryn) Donovan of Rexford, New York, half-brothers, Dain Donovan of Burnt Hills, New York, and Ross Donovan of Schenectady, New York, his niece, Laura Donovan and nephew James Donovan and his former wife, Wanita Donovan of Oregon. A memorial service will be held at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY on Friday afternoon July 10, 2009 at 3 pm to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1 to 3 pm prior to the memorial service. An additional memorial service will be held at Morningside Flight Park, 357 Morningside Lane, Claremont, NH on Saturday afternoon July 11, 2009 at 1 pm followed by a celebration of his life.
