Thomas Hochmuth Sr. of Schenectady died at Ellis Hospital on Friday afternoon February 20, 2009. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late George and Alice (Goode) Hochmuth. A WWII army veteran, Tom was the owner of Tom Hochmuth Construction in Schenectady for over 26 years. He was a former manager, coach and active volunteer in both the Belmont and Rotterdam Babe Ruth's, a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and its former Holy Name Society. Tom was an avid Bowler and loved gardening. Beside his parents, he is predeceased by a son, Richard Hochmuth, a daughter Alice Holdridge and daughter-in-law, Debbie Hochmuth. Survivors include his wife of 62 years Dorothy Borst Hochmuth who he married October 19, 1946, his children, Paul Hochmuth (Julia) of Rotterdam, John Hochmuth (Lynnda) of Duanesburg, Peter Hochmuth (Jacqueline) of Schenectady, Thomas Hochmuth Jr. (Amy) of Delanson, Ann Singleton (David) of Poland ,OH, Joan Labombard (Edward) of Latham, Mary Lou McCallum (Dean) of Pensacola, Fl ,Rose Hochmuth of Schenectady, Linda Norgaard (Joseph) of New Jersey, Marcia Kaufman (Steven) of Schenectady, a daughter-in-law, Diane Hochmuth of Wappingers Falls, NY, brothers, John Hochmuth of Delaware, Joseph and William Hochmuth both of Maryland, sisters, Alice Ferrante of Maryland and Rose Pischke of California, 27 grandchildren , 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning February 24th at 10 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Bradt St., Schenectady, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours will be held on Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady Interment in St Cyril's Cemetery, Rotterdam, NY Contributions may be made the Toms Memory to the Rotterdam Babe Ruth, P.O.
