Thomas W. Danforth, 97, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning August 8th at the Joan Nicole Prince Home in Scotia.
Born in Wolfeboro, NH, Thomas was the son of the late Charles and Elsie (Roberts) Danforth.
A World War II Navy Veteran, Thomas served as ship's cook 2nd class on the USS Casa Grande in the Asian Pacific. After completion of his service, Thomas worked for over 30 years in installation and repair for Main Care Energy in Albany prior to his retirement.
Tom enjoyed camping, traveling, cruising, and spending quality time with his family.
Predeceased in 2016 by his beloved wife of over 50 years Esther (LaMont) Danforth, Thomas was also predeceased by a step-daughter Janet B. Hopson.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Elaine C. Leger, his 6 grandchildren, Susan D. Mahoney-Clark (Ken), Sharon L. Leger, Norman M. Alfieri, Alden E. Leger, Christopher T. Leger and Audrey A. Taylor and his great grandchildren.
A memorial service for Thomas will be held on Sunday afternoon August 20th at 2 pm at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3 pm at the Rotterdam VFW.
Interment in the family lot at Vale Cemetery.
