Theresa A D'Agostino

Theresa Ann D'Agostino, 79, died Wednesday morning, August 20, 2014 at Ellis Hospital due to complications from heart disease. Born in Schenectady, Theresa was the daughter of the late Frank and Emily (Stern) Belott. A graduate of Draper High School, Theresa owned her own piano instruction business for 30 years and gave the gift of music to many residents of the area. An accomplished pianist and organist, Theresa had been the organist for both the former Our Lady Of the Assumption and Immaculate Conception Churches in Schenectady as well as many others in the area. Theresa was also a devoted member of the Discalced Carmelite 3rd order. Theresa is predeceased by her brother Alfred Belott and her sister and brother-in-law Frieda and Joe Pierone. She is survived by her son Christopher D'Agostino of Houston, TX and her daughters Denise Pavletic (Gregory) of Washington DC, Gina D'Agostino of Los Angeles, CA, Bernadette Petersen of Rotterdam as well as one grandaughter Cassidy D'Agostino. Theresa also leaves behind her longtime companion, Vincent D'Agostino of Ballston Spa and niece Kathleen Pierone of Albany. Funeral services for Theresa will be held Monday August 25 at 8:15am at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady followed at 9am at St. Luke's Church, 1241 State St, Schenectady, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. A visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5-7pm at the funeral home. The Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites, Our Lady of Mercy Community will be saying the Office of the Dead on Sunday at 6:30PM. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Theresa's name can be made to the Father Peter Young Foundation, 428 Duane Ave., Schenectady, NY 12304. Half of all proceeds will be shared with the Carmelite Monastery. Please specify Theresa's full name when donating.
