Theodore Smith

Theodore Smith, 96, of Rotterdam passed away Monday October 31, 2011 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Schenectady on November 5, 1914, he was the son of the late George and Effie (Reamer) Smith. After completing the GE Apprenticeship Program through Schenectady Vocational, he was employed as a master carpenter for the General Electric Company in Schenectady for 42 years. Theodore was a member of the Bellevue Reformed Church. He was also a member of the GE Quarter Century and the NRA. Theodore was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and spending time at his camp on Sacandaga. He is predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Helen {Maxwell} Smith, and three brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his daughter Cynthia Dahlin of Schenectady and one son Stuart Smith (Kathy) of Alplaus, also survived by 6 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great, Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. As per his request, there will be no services held. Contributions can be made in Theodore's memory to the charity of one's choice.
