Stan was born in Schenectady on May 8, 1928, he was the son of the late Stanley M and Anna Ordon
A lifelong resident of the Capital District, he graduated from Mt. Pleasant High school and then served in the US Navy from 1946-48. After his military service, he attended Troy Vocational School and then began his long career in television broadcasting. He served 38 years as Transmitter supervisor for WTEN-TV in Albany, retiring in 1990.
He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Norma (Shafer), brothers Edward S. Ordon and Leonard J. Ordon, and daughter in law Lesa Ordon.
He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey R. Ordon (Kim) of Rotterdam and James S. Ordon (Mira) of Edinburg, grandchildren USAF Technical Sgt Bryan Ordon of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Ashley Ordon of Cohoes, Joel Ordon of Niskayuna, and Robert Ordon of Rotterdam.
Stan was a member of the VFW Post 1895, and the Rotterdam Elks lodge where he bartended and played in the Dart league for many years. He also enjoyed golf, working on his 1932 Plymouth Coupe, spending the cold months in Florida, the summers at the family camp on Sacandaga Lake, and rooting for his beloved NY Yankees and Pittsburgh Steelers.
Funeral Services for Stanley will be Friday morning 9AM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Face Mask and Social Distancing are required. Calling Hours will be Thursday evening from 5-8PM at the funeral home.
Interment with military honors will be at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
