Sophie Makovich

Sophie Makovich 86 formerly of Schenectady died Friday October 16, 2009 at home in Greenfield, MA. Born in the Bronx, Sophie was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Kiriluk. A homemaker, she was a long time volunteer with the Mt Pleasant Public Library. The wife of the late Stephen E. Makovich who died in 1966, Sophie is the mother of Stephen R. Makovich (Cynthia) of Scotia, Sharon Jablonski (Late Richard) of Daytona Beach, Fl., Sandra Makovich Scheuer of Delmar, Susan Bennett (William) of Tampa, Fl. and Stephanie Vincour (Michael) of Greenfield, MA and grandmother of Stephen R. Makovich Jr., Staci K. Makovich, Jared Swindle and Christopher Swindle. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday morning October 21, 2009 at 11am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave. Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 to 11am prior to the funeral service. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Park in Colonie, NY. Contributions may be made in Sophie's memory to a local Disabled American Veterans Post or to an Animal Shelter of one's choice.
