Shirley Kieft

Shirley M. Kieft, 86, passed away peacefully at the Schenectady Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation on January 5, 2021.

A lifelong resident of Rotterdam, Shirley was born December 27,1934.
She was the daughter of Arthur and Anna Kieft and a graduate of Draper High School.

A secretary for more than 40 years at the General Electric Company, Shirley was a member of the G.E. Women’s Club. After retirement she traveled extensively with the club throughout the United States and to other continents, where see saw many spectacular sights along her way. One of her favorite’s was her annual bus trip to Maine in the fall. Shirley had a fondness for animals and was a member of the Rotterdam Senior Center where she would gather with her friends and acquaintances.

Predeceased by her sisters Betty Rakoske and Anna Pelts, Shirley is survived by her nephews James Rakoske and his wife Mary and Thomas Rakoske (Barbara) and several great nieces and nephews.

A private graveside memorial will be held at a future date.
