Shirley Alice Bigley

September 2, 1929 — August 28, 2010

Shirley Alice Bigley was granted her angel wings on Saturday August 28, 2010 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born September 2, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Brown. Shirley was a graduate of Draper High School (1946) and Albany Business College. She was united in marriage on February 20, 1948 to William H. Bigley, who passed away on August 6, 2003. Shirley was a secretary for many years before retiring from the General Electric Turbine Department. She had many passions including her family and her devoted companions, two Yorkshire Terriers named Tiny and Junior. Shirley also found pleasure sitting on her porch looking at her beautiful flowers and also the many birds that chose to nest in her yard. She and her husband spent many weekends and summers at their camp on Lewey Lake in Speculator, NY. They also enjoyed traveling, especially to their special island, St. Martins. Shirley was a loving and devoted mother to her four daughters-Toni Lynn Kremzier(Gary),Pamela Anne LaVallee( Lawrence) Deborah Jane Iachetta ( Michael) and Billie Jo D'Angelo.. She is also survived by six grandchildren Anthony D'Angelo, Christina Kremzier, Cailin LaVallee, Madison LaVallee, and Joseph Iachetta, William Iachetta and also friends and relatives. The family would like to thank Hospice and the staff at Ellis Hospital for their excellent care that Shirley received. We would also like to thank Shirley's special friend and canasta partner, Chrissy Suttle. Funeral Services will be Friday 11AM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Friday 9-11AM at the funeral home. Internment will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
