Shontia L. Jennings

February 22, 1982 — September 13, 2025

Schenectady, NY

Shontia “ Eah” Jennings, 43, left this world on September 13th, 2025. She was born on

February 22,1982, in Schenectady New York to Emily Susan Chaires and William Jennings.

Shontia grew up in Schenectady and made her life surrounded by family, friends and

community. She graduated from BOCES as a licensed practical nurse and went on to work at

Conifer park, where her caring heart touched so many. But more than anything Shontia’s

greatest joy came from being with her beautiful grandchildren. She loved helping others,

always showing up when someone needed her, and giving of herself without hesitation.

Just at 14 and 15 years old, Shontia met the love of her life, Charles Stinson what began as

young love grew into a lifelong bond. Together, they built a life filled with love laughter and

devotion and were blessed with two sons, Charles Stinson jr and Devin Stinson, who were the

center of her heart. Being their mother was Shontia’s greatest pride and joy she poured her

whole heart into raising them, guiding them, and loving them unconditionally. Her sons were

her world, and she cherished every moment of motherhood.

Shontia will always be remembered for her giving heart and the way she shared so freely with

everyone around her. She was the first to lend a helping hand and never hesitated to be there

for those in need. Her kindness and gentle spirit made her a light in so many lives. Shontia had

a gift for lifting others up whether through her steady support, her laughter, or her amazing

sense of humor. To many, she was more than a friend or family member, she was a rock

someone could always count on.

Shontia leaves behind a legacy of love through her family. She is survived by her husband

Charles Stinson and their two children Charles Stinson jr. and Devin Stinson who were the light

of her life she was a proud and devoted grandmother to London Stinson and Eli Stinson, who

brought her endless joy. Shontia was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews Ny’shae

Jennings, William Jennings lll, Alaya Jennings, Khilin Jennings, Kacen Jennings and Rosie

Santiago. She will deeply be missed by her siblings Miya, Jamie, Shawn, Nikol, Domiyon,

Dominique, Sheonna, Darnel, Elijah, Dominisha, Chantel, Dominiyah, Johnathan, and Dominelle. Shontia is

preceded in death by her beloved brother, William Jennings jr., and is now reunited with him in

peace.

Though Shontia’s time here feels far too short, her love, laughter and spirit will live on forever in

the hearts of all who knew her. She touched countless lives with her kindness her strength, and

her unwavering devotion to family and community. To know Shontia was to know true love, and
