Scott J. Baldwin of Rotterdam, was called home Wednesday, August 19, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Tamara (Tammy) Baldwin. Scott was dedicated to his wife, family and friends. He loved everyone...no matter where they were in life or where they were heading. He was happy for everyone and he loved beyond reason for some. He lived by the Golden Rule, "Treat everyone as you want to be treated". He was employed as an Airfield Maintenance Technician at Albany International Airport. For 25 years Scott was a dedicated firefighter, also a past Lieutenant and President of Carman Volunteer Fire Department, where he currently held the position of Commissioner for Rotterdam Fire District # 3. He was also an active member of Rotterdam Elks #2157. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 22 from 10am-2pm at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY 12306. After the visitation Scott will travel by fire truck, followed by a procession, to the Carman Fire Department, where Scott will answer his final fire call. Immediately following, all are invited to remain at the Carman Fire Department for a celebration of Scott's life. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Scott's name to the Carman Volunteer Fire Department, 2435 Hamburg Street, Rotterdam, NY, 12303.
