Samantha L. Griffin

Samantha (Sam) L. Griffin, 39, of Rotterdam, New York, passed away tragically on October 1, 2025. She was a beloved mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and friend.

Sam’s sudden passing has left her family and friends heartbroken.

She is survived by her mother, Sharon Griffin, and her four beloved children, Ava (Cy'rus) Griffin, Kayshaun Benson, Damien and Devin Griffin (who were the light of her life); sister Rachael Griffin, brother Tyler Lokey; grandmother Patricia Griffin and grandfather Robert Griffin; Aunt Julie Griffin and Uncle Stephen Griffin and several cousins.

Samantha loved her children more than anything in the world and worked tirelessly to provide for them. Though she faced many challenges, she never stopped striving to be the best mother she could be. Her strength, warmth, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

The family wishes to acknowledge the love and support of close friends, including Jessica Callahan, a lifelong friend considered part of the family, and Dawn Cooper-Rapp, a second mother to Samantha.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 27,2025 from 10-11AM at Bond Funeral Home, 1614 Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12306. A service to celebrate Samantha’s life will follow at 11AM at the funeral home.

Those wishing to honor Samantha’s memory are encouraged to hold their loved ones close and to offer kindness and compassion to those who may be fighting silent battles.
