Sadie Josephine Marshall, 91, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning December 13th at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady after a lengthy encounter with Parkinson's. She was born, educated and life-long resident of Schenectady and a graduate of Nott Terrace High School. The eldest child of the late Paul and Josephine (Filutowski) Duma, Sadie was predeceased by her brother Paul R. Duma in 1994 and in 2002 by her beloved husband Paul R. Marshall, whom she married in OCT1947. Sadie is survived by her sons; Timothy P. Marshall of Santa Cruz, CA and Kimberley R. and wife Sharon (Lloyd) Marshall, her grandsons; Scott and Gregory Marshall, and her sister; Doris (Duma) Wujciak all of Schenectady, NY. She also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends. Sadie was an Administrative Assistant for New York State Department of Tax and Finance in Albany NY and retired as a head cashier at the former Safeway Supermarket in Rotterdam, NY. Sadie will always be remembered foremost for her devotion and abundant nurturing she provided for her family. She was raised a devout Catholic and an active parishioner of St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church. An avid Artist, Bowler, Seamstress, Knitter, Numismatist and Rockhound were some of her interests. She was involved with her "boys" in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. She loved the outdoors, camping, boating, swimming, water and snow skiing. Sadie traveled extensively with her husband and criss-crossed the US in their motor home. She loved to cook and was a passionate shopper for the best values. She was great video game player and shared that enjoyment with her grandchildren, she also enjoyed family history and discovering family roots. The family wishes to thank all of those at the Kingsway Community who cared for her needs, especially those in the Kingsway Assisted Living Community and the Bellevue nurses and staff at Kingsway Arms. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated May 18, 2018 at 11:30 AM at St. Gabriel's Church, 3040 Hamburg, Rotterdam, NY. Interment will be in Gerald BH Solomon National Cemetery with her husband Paul.
