Ruth Y Beck (Yon)

Ruth Y. Beck,96, passed away Sunday morning February 26th at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia. Born in Pittsfield, MA, Ruth was the daughter of the late Raymond and Anna (O'Boyle) Yon and a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady. A former Library assistant in Niskayuna High School for many years, Ruth was also a former employee at Buy-Rite. A longtime member of the former Mt Pleasant Reformed Church, Ruth was a member of First Reformed Church of Scotia. A member of the Capitolers (Decorative Artist Chapter) she was an avid painter. Ruth was also a former active member of the Book Club, Garden Club and Bridge Club. Predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Frederick A. Beck who she married in November of 1943 and her sister Helene Ergmann. Ruth is survived by her children: Karen Bruinsma (Walter) of Webster, NY, Phyllis Beck of Scotia, Alan Beck (Arlene) of Duanesburg and Keith Beck (Joan) of Scotia, her grandchildren, Virginia, Thomas, Kevin and Timothy, and her great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Amanda, Adaline, Benjamin and Elaina. Ruth is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 4th at 12 noon at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 to 12 noon prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Memory Garden in Colonie, NY In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Ruth's memory to the First Reformed Church of Scotia, 224 North Ballston Ave., Scotia, NY. 12302
