Ruth E Ostrom

Ruth E. Ostrom 81 of Schenectady died Sunday afternoon November 26, 2006 at St. Clares Hospital after a long illness Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Fabian and Esther (Pennistan) Hakansson and a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Ruth worked for the General Electric Company for over 20 years before retiring in the early 1980's. She was a member of the G.E. Women's Club and the Northbush Methodist Church. Ruth leaves behind her husband of 58 years Earl G. Ostrom who she married May 29,1948, two children, David E. Ostrom and wife Margaret of Burnt Hills and Rev. Claudia E. Britton and husband Peter of Rotterdam, four grandchildren, Jane Lobosco, Jill Konopka, Elizabeth Ostrom and Emily Ostrom. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning November 29, 2006 at 11 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm. Interment in Schenectady Memorial Park in Rotterdam.
