Ruth H. Ostrander, of Hamburg Street Rotterdam died Tuesday December 14, 2004 at her daughter's home. Ruth was born in Schenectady and is the daughter of the late John H. Woodruff and Mabel (Primmer) Woodruff. She is a Graduate of Nott Terrace High School in Schenectady. Ruth was employed as a Teller for the Former Foundry and Pattern Makers Credit Union in Schenectady. She was a member of the Lynwood Reformed Church in Guilderland. Ruth volunteered as a Ceramics Teacher at the Schenectady Girls Club. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Rotterdam Senior Citizens and St. Gabriel's Women's Group. Ruth is predeceased by her husband Byron W. Ostrander whom she married June 27, 1941 and her brother Charles Woodruff. Survivors include two sons Russell J. Ostrander of Seaside Heights, NJ and Darryl L. Ostrander (Nancy) of Niskayuna, NY, two daughters Laurel E. Straight (Richard) of Rotterdam, NY and Marilyn R. Dillion(Roger) of Gansevoort, NY, three sisters in laws Beverly Woodruff of Rotterdam, NY, A. E. Loomen of Princetown, NY and Marjorie Talbot(Ronald) of Schenectady also survived by 11 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Thursday 1PM at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be Thursday from 11AM-1PM. Internment will be in Vale Cemetery in Schenectady. Contributions can be made in Ruth's memory to Community Hospice 1411 Union Street Schenectady, NY 12308 or the charity of one's choice
