Ruth Arbour

Ruth E. Arbour 95 of Rotterdam died Sunday evening October 5, 2008 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home. Born and educated in Schenectady, Ruth worked for the General Electric Company in the Payroll Department for over 25 years before her retirement. Ruth was a member of the ? Century club of the GE was an artist, and avid traveler, enjoyed playing the organ and making greeting cards on the computer, Knitting and crochet. Ruth was predeceased in1996 by her husband of 65 years Leopold Arbour and was also predeceased by her son Ronald Arbour. She is survived by he daughters, Ruth Menia (Ronald) and Dolores Fonda(late Donald) both of Rotterdam, a daughter-in-law, Gerlinde Arbour of Rotterdam, a brother Earl Johnson (Clare) of Oregon, a sister, Betty Preston of Glens Falls,8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren,3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday October 11, 2008 12 noon at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. Interment will be private in Schenectady Memorial Park.
