Rosa Schellenger

Rosa (Rose) Schellenger- 88 of Rotterdam passed away November 9, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.

Rosa was born in Schuylerville, NY to the late William Griffen and Amelia Brewer Griffen. She attended Schuylerville One Room School House. Rose worked for Mohawk National Bank for many years. After she retired, she became a caretaker for elderly which she cherished the time she spent with them. She loved spending time with her family and tending to her beautiful garden. Rose loved playing with her cats Chubby and Skinny.

She is predeceased by her parents and her brothers Willam Griffen, Joseph Griffen, Chauncy Griffen, Gene Griffen and her sisters Florence Griffen, & Holly Schermerhorn. As well as her daughter Linda Schellenger.

Rose is survived by her brothers Seth, Ed, and Dennis and sisters Mary Canavan and Anne Cole-Ferrara. Her children James (Jeong) Schellenger of Maryland, Larry (Vickie) Schellenger of Rotterdam, John Schellenger of Schenectady, Donna Hill of Hudson, Carl Schellenger of Rotterdam, Bill (Cara) Zarnowski (Schellenger) of Massachusetts, Mickey (Tracy) Schellenger of Schenectady, Tina Schellenger of Rotterdam. Her 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her many friends and her loving family.

Private services and burial for family and close friends will take place at a later date. We would like to thank hospice for their service. Donations in Rose’s name may be made to Hospice of Schenectady.
