Ronald Colpoys

Ronald J. Colpoys 58 of Alplaus died Friday evening June 9, 2006 at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Born in Niskayuna, he was the son of Joyce (Gipe) Colpoys of Latham and the late James T. Colpoys. Ronald worked for the General Electric Company for over 37 years before retiring from steam turbine in 2004. He was a member of the GE ? century club, the Harley Owners Group, Local # 301 and was a former volunteer fireman in the Alplaus and Jonesville volunteer Fire Departments. Ron was an avid hunter, fisherman and boater as well as a motorcycle enthusiast. Be side his mother, he is survived by his wife of 14 years Catherine L (Paul) Colpoys, his sisters Cheryl Kirkendall(Robert) of Latham, Susan McManus(Thomas) of Latham, Mary Jackson of Bolton Landing and Linda Dion of Syracuse, a brother John Colpoys(Kathy) of Boone, Iowa, his father in law, Leland Paul of Schenectady, his sister in laws ,Julie Kilcullen( Joseph) and Marjorie Applegate (Mark) both of Rotterdam, several aunts, uncles, nieces , nephews ,great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning 8 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady followed at 9 am at St. Mary's Church, 86 Church Hill Rd., Crescent, NY. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm.
