Rodney P "Scooter" Hayes

It is with our deepest sadness to announce the death of Rodney P. Hayes, 48, of Niskayuna, NY who passed away on July 15, 2023, at Albany Medical Center with family by his side.

Rodney is survived by his beloved parents Bertis “Tom” Hayes and Deborah (Aldi) Hayes Lichtenwalner and her husband David, his loving aunts Sandy, Lu Emma (Gerry) and Theresa (Rocco), close cousins Tommy, Mark, Michele and Lisa and their extended families.

A 1993 Graduate of Schalmont High School. A skilled machinist, Rodney worked in South Carolina for over 17 years, returning to this area in 2012 where he continued his skill and was presently working for Greno Industries in Scotia.

In his youth, Rodney was an avid hunter and as he aged, he became interested in golf and riding his green Kawasaki, which interested him the most.

Rodney was predeceased by his grandparents, Bertis and Rita Hayes and Peter and Margie Aldi and his half-brother Bertis J Hayes 3rd.

He will be greatly missed by his best friend and loving doggy, Tater and his girlfriend, Fran Marshall.
This year Rodney began riding with a group of fellow motorcycle brothers who he loved, respected, and enjoyed riding with. “Ride in Paradise Rodney”

Services for Rodney will be held on Friday July 21st at 12 noon at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 to 12 noon prior to this funeral service.

Interment will be in Str. Cyril’s Cemetery in Rotterdam, NY
