Roberta J Brown (Barrett)

Roberta J. Brown 74, passed away Tuesday afternoon June 20th at the Grand Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Guilderland. Born and educated in Schenectady, Roberta was the daughter of the late Robert and Evelyn (Pickard) Barrett and a 1960 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and Albany Medical College School of Nursing. A LPN for more than 30 years, Roberta worked for St Clare's Hospital, Hospice,the Heritage Home for Women and later retired from Rotterdam Family Medicine in 1993, she attended the Church of the Nazarene in Schenectady when her health would allow, Roberta's passions beside nursing was her family. She was known by many names, Berta, Mom, Petunia,Gram and Brown. Roberta enjoyed her grandchildren to the fullest. She loved to travel , crafting, puzzles ,sailing and her game shows. Predeceased by her parents Robert in 1994 and Evelyn in 2015, Roberta was also predeceased by a daughter Deborah in 1963 and her nephew Michael Shepard in 1977. Roberta is survived by her husband of 54 years Wayne Brown who she married March 9, 1963, her children; Lisa Feulner of Schenectady and Greg Brown (Allison) of Schenectady, her grandchildren Ashley Brown, Katelynn Brown, Victoria Dunston and Alisha Kuder (Frank) all of Schenectady, her great grandchildren; Hailey Sanders and Sal Cusato, her sister; Carol Shepard (Chuck) of Waldwick, NJ, her nephew; David Shepard and his family of Canton, CT and her favorite companion "Sammy". Funeral services will be held on Monday morning June 26th at 11 am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 to 11am prior to the funeral services. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park.
