Robert E. Trafton, 50, of Schenectady passed away suddenly at Albany Medical Center on Sunday August 29, 2021. Born in Cobleskill, NY, he was the son of Robert E. Trafton (Brenda) and Sandra LaVallee.
He was a graduate of Schalmont High School. He was employed as a locomotive engineer for CSX.
Rob was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and dog dad to Buddy. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Rob was proud to have served four years in the Army as a Specialist E4. He loved riding his Harley and his collection of vintage snowmobiles. He was a loyal friend to many and will forever be missed by those who knew him.
Besides his parents, Rob is survived by his brother Thomas LaVallee (Laurie), his sister Amy McKelvey (Chris), his stepfather Thomas LaVallee, his nieces and nephews-Nicole Posluszny, Connor McKelvey and Alexis LaVallee, his Uncles Ray Hollenbeck (Nancy) and Harry Zieber, several step brothers and sisters, his dog Buddy and many close friends including Brett Cox (Saskia).
A visitation to celebrate Rob’s life will be held on Monday September 6, 2021 from 5-7PM at the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 1PM at St. Cyril and Method Cemetery 611 Duanesburg Road Rotterdam.
