Robert F. Ostrander, 58, of Port Orange, FL, and Glen Avenue, Scotia, died Thursday, September 2, 2004, at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Born in Schenectady, Bob was a 1963 graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School. For many years, Bob worked for Montgomery Ward as the manager in the auto department, retiring in 1986. He later became the co-owner with his wife of Jimmy Dee's in Scotia, which they owned for seven years. Robert was also a member of the Rotterdam Elks and Pine Valley United Methodist Church. Robert was the son of Frank E. Ostrander of Scotia and the late Marjorie (Kilmer) Ostrander. He is also survived by his wife, Sharon (Kossuth) Ostrander, whom he married August 20, 1966; two children, Tracey L. Hart and her husband, James of Rotterdam and Michael R. Ostrander and his fiancee, Katina Manes of St. Petersburgh, FL; three grandchildren, Erin Dolen, Alyssa Hart, and Johnathan Hart. Also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway and Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the funeral services. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Bob's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to a charity of choice.
