Robert A Laviolette

Robert A. LaViolette 80 died Saturday evening July 17, 2010 at the Avenue Nursing Home in Schenectady. Born and educated in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Louis and Lydia (Lizotte) LaViolette. Robert retired in 1991 as an Instrument Mechanic from KNOLLS after 40 years of service. A member of the former Immaculate Conception Church, Bob was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace in Rotterdam. Bob was active in all aspects of Immaculate Conception from the church choir to maintenance of the church to the church's Boy Scout troop. He was a 20 year member of the Auxiliary police retiring as a lieutenant. His hobbies included woodworking and scrollwork. Robert was predeceased in 2006 by his son Dennis. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Concetta (Simboli) LaViolette, his children, Doreen Ann Gray (Adrian) of new Milford, CT, Kathleen Ann Powell (John) of Pepperell, MA and Mark E. LaViolette (Barbara) of Glenville, grandchildren, Jennifer Cioto, Robert Gray, Tina Powell, Andrew Powell, Kate Gray, Joshua Powell, Sarah LaViolette and Trevor LaViolette as well as 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning July 21, 2010 at 9:15am at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Ave, Schenectady, NY followed at 10am at Our Lady Queen of Peace(Formerly Our Lady of the Assumption) 210 Princetown Road, Rotterdam, NY where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm. Entombment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
