Robert J. Kukla, 86, of Albany passed away on Sunday morning February 7th at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY
Born in Newburgh, NY., Robert served from 1957 to 1959 in the United States Army.
A former Comptroller for the City of Albany, Bob worked for the city for over 25 years prior to his retirement in 1997. A member of the Albany Elks, Bob was an avid Giants Fan, liked listening to Neil Diamond (Bob and Genny's song is Hello my friend) Daffy Duck and his vacations in Vermont. He was a loving and devoted husband, a very caring father, grandfather and babu. He will be so very , very missed.
Predeceased by his granddaughter Ramy Olson, Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years Genevieve (Karbowski) Kukla, his children Kimberly Kukla Olson (Roger), Meg Kukla Kutz (Paul), John Kukla (Cindy), Daniel Leffingwell (Debra), Pamela Leffingwell LaBrake (Henry), Jessica Fowler Langlois (Keith) and Tara Fowler Allen, grandchildren Renee LaBrake Crisafulli (Nicholas), Henry LaBrake, Matthew LaBrake, Jazmin Kukla, Erynn Barber, Skye Fowler-Eggleston, Emily Leffingwell and Edward Allen Jr., great grandchildren Nicholas Crisafulli and Anthony Crisafulli. He was very fond of his pets Lucky and Cody.
A celebration of Robert's life will be held with military honors on Sunday February 14th at 4 pm at Bond Funeral Home, Broadway & Guilderland Avenue, Schenectady, NY. A visitation will be held from 3 to 4 pm at the funeral home prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Roberts memory to Community Hospice
