Robert S Kessler

June 29, 1938 — November 30, 2020

Robert S. Kessler, 82, of Mayfield passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday November 30, 2020 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville. Born in Weedsport, NY, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Putnam) Kessler.

Bob attended Hope College in the hopes of becoming a Pastor, but later turned his attention to architecture and construction. He was employed for ten years for the state of New York in the architecture department. Bob later was the Founder and President of Future Living Inc. For 40 years, his company focused on architecture and building projects.

He was a past president of the Home Builders Association in Schenectady. Bob was also for many years a member of the Empire and Eastern Division of the Toy Train Operating Society.

Bob was planning to be a member of the Mayfield Presbyterian Church.

He was a very special person and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be deeply missed by all.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Gail (Espie) Kessler whom he married March 28,1959, his son John K. Kessler (Linda) of Mayfield, his daughter Sherry Chinski (Joseph) of Rotterdam, his brother Bruce Kessler of Sun City, AZ and his sister Louise Nolan of Ravena. He is also survived by his two grandchildren Robert J. Kessler (Calyn) of Ballston Spa and Karalin Mathewson (Christopher) of Mayfield as well as two great grandchildren Ava Kessler and Avery Mathewson and several nieces and nephews.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a Celebration of Bob’s life will be held in the spring of 2021, please watch the paper for a future announcement.

Interment will be in Memory’s Garden in Colonie.

In lieu of flowers. contributions can be made in Bob’s memory to Mountain Valley Hospice 108 Steele Avenue Gloversville, NY 12078 or to the American Heart Association 4 Atrium Drive #100 Albany, NY 12205.

Arrangements are by the Bond Funeral Home 1614 Guilderland Avenue Schenectady.
